Focused Guide: The Art of Film eBook
Focused Guide: The Art of Film eBook
Focused Guides are for a wide range of creative professionals who want to broaden their skill sets and expand their knowledge in areas they may not be familiar with. These practical guides will take you from basic to advanced in a variety of periphery topics that have been important in my work.
As a supplement to my Master Guide to Fine Art Wedding Photography, these Focused Guides give you a chance to “choose your own adventure.” You can read them all, or “focus” on the topics that are the most interesting. This way you can design a course that is most helpful for you and your business.
InThe Art of Film you will learn:
The basics of film and how to begin shooting it
What my personal film and camera choices are
Simple, accurate metering and how to find ideal lighting
How to shoot film in low light
How to create (or avoid) double exposures, long exposures, light leaks and flares
Tips for loading, storing and traveling with film
How to work with a lab and scanner to finesse a personal look and style
The guide is provided as a protected PDF and includes over 50 pages of written instruction and visual content with all film, camera and exposure settings provided.
*Please note, content must be downloaded on a laptop or desktop, it cannot be downloaded to a mobile or tablet device.

Are the guides only for photographers?
These guides were written for the modern, fine art wedding photographer or aspirational photographers, but you’ll be surprised to see that art in its many forms are universally applicable. The guides are helpful to anyone who is looking to improve their creative skills, and can be especially eye-opening for stylists and designers who work frequently with portrait photographers.

These guidebooks are suitable for both beginners and established photographers. If you’re a beginner, these guides will start you off on the right foot, or introduce you to a different perspective.
